Was Logan's mom's name ever given? According to wikipedia, it's listed as Euphorina, but I can't ever remember that in the books. I don't have the CG with me.
Hello, I finally decided to stop lurking this community and actually become a member!
I read SS#8: Baby-sitters at Shadow Lake recently, and thought I would share these gems with you. Thanks AMM, you sure know how to make a girl laugh.

Please Stop Trying To Make Us Feel Bad For Mallory: By contrast, it's time the BSC Universe stops trying to get us all to feel sympathy for Mallory Pike, the Ginger with a heart of pyrite. We know she has a million brothers and sisters. We know she's awkward. We know she feels she'll never be as cool as Dawn, Claudia, or Stacey. But it's not because of her red hair and freckles, it's because of her craptacular attitude and whiny disposition. All Mallory ever does is complain. If we keep giving in to Mallory's pity parties, she's going to grow up to be that friend who calls just to say, "Oh...you're going out? That must be fun...for you," even though you've called to ask her to come along about 700 times in the past week. I know she's supposed to speak to young readers who feel that they, too, are outsiders and weirdos, but Mallory never seems to grow; for every small victory that occurs, she seems to end up right back where she started from—feeling bad for herself and manipulating others to feel the same. Either force Mallory out of her Debbie Downer stage or give us a better reason to care about her. Pity isn't going to cut it anymore.

According to Facebook, I may know Jacob TwoTwo. Karen would be jealous.

Tavern on the Green, one of the most famous sites in New York City and once one of the nation's top grossing restaurants, will close its doors on December 31, 2009.
Located in Central Park and 67th Street, it was originally a sheephold for the nearby Sheep Meadow. Converted to a restaurant in the 1930's. it gained international fame with its 1976 re-opening at one point becoming the second highest grossing restaurant in the U.S.
Since then it's been the scene of Broadway opening parties, movie premieres and has been featured in films like "Wall Street" and "Ghostbusters" among others.
The City of New York declined to renew its operating license in August 2009 and shortly after Tavern filed for Chapter 11 protection.
Besides its glass framed dining and function rooms, the Tavern is well known for its outdoor space with horticultural figures and its entrance lined with yellow cabs and horsedrawn carriages.

Wonder what this will mean for the revamp.

Island Adventure has always been my favorite Super Special despite it's many improbabilities and the fact that IMO it was wrapped up way too easily ( ::)Claudia just happened to find a big enough, yet manageable for her and the others to carry) piece of a mirror and quickly! As I posted in the "Super Special" thread, while I don't like to wish harm on anyone, even fictional BSC friends, I truly do feel the story would have been a lot better if it had lasted even one more day. A few days could have truly resulted in our getting to read chapters by the stranded Charges their Parents, and hear what exactly the Community Center (Community at large even) was doing to aid the search.
I have Yahoo Messenger (I believe it can support MSN and possibly also AOL) it'd be great to set up a chat time for amnyone interested to come together. :) Any/all ideas/suggestions most welcome. Let me know and perhaps after the Holidays we can get started on this.
The Characters as written were:
Claudia
editornia
Dawn
Jeff
nikzone
Haley
Becca
Jamie
From my Timeline creation, the book took place during The BSC's 3rd year of 8th Grade. My complete guess it the story may have occurred over the Columbus Day weekend.
Starts: Starts on a Friday, 9/29/89
Ends: Ends 15 days later Friday, 10/13/89
Year of 8th grade: 3
I have the specifics but they just don't post well on here due to being in Word Table Format. We can talk about that later.
Please pm me or reply on here if interested and lol here's to a our take, a fan take, on the True Adventures on 9:00 Island (or whatever title is decided on :) Also, to be able to include more fellow fans, (I think the more the merrier), please don't feel like you'd rather not participate due to never having written a fan fic or simply lack of tme/interest to take on. It'll need as many different takes/ideas as possible to brainstorm and generate working draft...idea and of course later on beta-readers, cheerleaders...you get the idea.

There's a BSC-related post on Ugliest Tattoos. The reference was so unexpected I had to repost it. The comments are vaguely amusing, too.
Google searches relating to BSC tattoos were inconclusive, to my great disappointment. I was really hoping for an "RIP MIMI" drunken mistake somewhere.

Hi! I was just wondering if anyone knew in what BSLS book does Karen try to hide Emily Michelle and her father almost calls the police when he can't find her?
Thanks in advance!

I just bought Graduation Day for $7.90 and FREE Shipping. 2010 is going to be great <3
So, I'm rereading all my BSC books and collecting the ones I don't have, a process that has taken me a long time cause I've been lazy about it :) Actually, that's not true, my brain has just been extra hungry for real books since I've graduated college and am not forced to read them anymore. Anyway, I digress (anybody remember looking up that word after reading Kristy's Great Idea? lol).
So, on page 95, Jessi has some lovely words of wisdom for us. She's talking to Haley, who is expressing resentment for Matt. And Jessi thinks: "I was a little surprised at what Haley had said, but when I thought about it, it made sense. I tried to be matter-of-fact. After all, her feelings were her feelings. They didn't make her a bad or a good person." How wonderfully insightful. Words of wisdom from the BSC :)
Now, to be mean, I think Jessi learns sign language WAY TOO FAST. I mean she's signing all kinds of things. She even signs a speech at Matt's school. Whats hilarious, though, is that after having signed said big long speech, she goes: "Next Friday," I told him with Ms. Frank's help. So..she can sign a whole speech but not "Next Friday." Hmm....
Oh BSC, I love you <3

someone may have posted something about this, but i'm reading main street: 'tis the season, and the first chapter references the film, the journey of natty gann, which i loved growing up. i was so excited and then i suddenly remembered that ann m martin wrote the novelization for the film. trippy circular moment there!
